Preparing new trainers

New professionals had an opportunity to get acquainted with the objectives, development and activities of RLG programme during the summer of 2016.

Ten secondary school instructors working in the Malapolska (South-Poland) province who were teaching entrepreneurial knowledge prepared to incorporate a few components of RLG programme into their practice the following year. The participants had part-time training and came from cities like Cracow, Mszana Dolna and Tarnów. The training of the RLG programme was presented as an independent module of a more comprehensive further-training programme for teachers.

The educational event of the International Federation of Educative Communities (FICE) provided an opportunity to make experts familiar with the programme in Hungary. We held the training at Kossuth Children's Home in Budapest together with 13 experts – psychologists, teachers, educators, child protection guardians. Most of the professionals complained about the lack of practicable methods which would promote their work. That explains why they were particularly pleased when they were informed about RLG programme. They ranked the activities of the project as well-sophisticated teaching and learning materials prepared with meticulous care that can be directly applied in their daily practice. They were of the opinion that the young people they look after, would likely find the activities interesting and it would be relatively easy to motivate the learners to participate in them.

The European Training Center (ETC) in Munich – connected to a programme named Bridge Year which was started for young migrant people in the new academic year – offered an opportunity for six new trainers to incorporate some of RLG activities into their practice. The young people will be able to apply primarily those activities which have such targeted competences that do not demand advanced German language skills.
